Current
Rules
The
Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has
authority to ensure that owners of wastewater treatment
systems and wastewater collection systems meet the requirements
for system classification and have licensed operating
personnel. Every treatment system and every collection
system must be classified, have licensed operating personnel,
and have a responsible charge and a substitute responsible
charge operator licensed at a class equal to or greater
than the class of the wastewater system. The responsible
charge operator and the substitute responsible charge
operator must be two (2) different
people. The system owner may meet the requirement by
employing, retaining or contracting with appropriately
licensed operators.
DEQ
requirements for wastewater system classification and
operator licensure are found in the Wastewater Rules, IDAPA 58.01.16,
Sections 010 and 202-204. |
