This examination schedule is provided as a courtesy for system owners/ employers to help them plan and work with employees to become licensed.

On April 15, 2007, a new operator licensure rule went into effect.  This rule requires that public wastewater systems that use wastewater for land application purposes must "employ, retain or contract with licensed land application/reuse operating personnel" (IDAPA 58.01.16.203.07).

On April 15, 2006, all public wastewater system owners were required to have all operating personnel licensed and to have responsible charge and substitute responsible charge operators licensed at a type and class equal to or greater than the classification of the system (IDAPA 58.01.16.203).

The Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licenses (IBOL) administers exams for the Idaho Board of Drinking Water and Wastewater Professionals (WWP Board). For questions regarding applications or examinations, visit IBOL's Web site at http://www.ibol.idaho.gov/wwp.htm or call (208) 334-3233.

The WWP Board reviews and evaluates each operator application that is submitted in accordance with its rules to determine eligibility to take an exam. The Rules for Drinking Water and Wastewater Professionals require applications to be submitted 30 days prior to a WWP Board meeting to be considered by the Board for the next exam. Any changes to the 30-day application deadline are made by the WWP Board and IBOL. Click here to determine the actual WWP Board and IBOL application deadlines.
